Join our Derby, featuring both harvest and catch-and-release sections to promote proper C&R practices. Help support habitat enhancement in Region Two.

Dec.29th  

Single hand Fly-casting drop in. 

All skill levels are welcome—join us from 10am–1pm to practice casting and address common fly rod issues. Beginners and experienced anglers can drop in to improve their understanding of fly-casting and fly-fishing. Meet at the store; tackle is available if needed. Wear weather-appropriate clothing, shoes, a hat, and glasses for December in BC. The session will be held on the nearby grass area.

Jan.9th  

Alan Penner- Intro to Winter Steelhead Fly Tying. 

This 4-week beginner course introduces Steelhead fly tying. Classes run Fridays, 6:30–9pm, with all materials and tools provided (bring your own vise and tools if preferred). 

Jan. 9: Learn about tools, materials, and basic fly tying with Marabou and Chenille. 

Jan. 16: Bunny leech night—tips for working with fur. 

Jan. 23: More advanced patterns, including Jays Simplicity. 

Jan. 30: Explore tube tying and course wrap-up.

Pacific Women’s Fishing Hub-Knot Tying Workshop. 

Gain proficiency in essential knots for water activities, including the Uni knot for hook connections, the egg loop, and the Double Uni for joining lines. 

Please register with the PWFH Facebook group; class size is limited to 10 participants.

This one-day float fishing and gear clinic includes 1.5 to 2 hours of classroom instruction on fish identification, behaviour, water reading, baits, and river etiquette, followed by practical application on the river.

Feb.20th  

Alan Penner- Intermediate Winter Steelhead Fly Tying Course. 

This four-week intermediate fly-tying course is for students with solid experience. Alan, a pro team member, will teach advanced skills and materials to enhance your techniques. All materials will be provided. 

Jan. 20: Steelhead fly design—color, profile, size, weight, movement, castability; Hoh-Bo-Spey and Beast of Burden. 

Feb. 27: Tube night—tie the Roamer Leech and a low-profile Ostrich tube. 

Mar. 6: Single stage intruder with composite loop shoulder; Brett Klamath Black and Blue Intruder. 

Mar. 13: Two stage old-style intruder; course wrap-up.
